Launch of #TheMouse animation for Voicing CSA

Creative Apprentices work on #TheMouse animation for Voicing CSA with Coronation Street star and Slurpy Studios

Chris Harper is probably best known for his portrayal of Nathan Curtis in Coronation Street. Over the past few months the country has been gripped by the storylines of manipulation and child sexual exploitation. Chris was deeply affected by the stories he heard whilst researching for the part. He visited the apprentices at Collage Arts recently to discuss a new project. They immediately signed up to help.

“Voicing CSA is a fantastic charity run by survivors of sexual abuse to help other survivors find their voice and to raise awareness of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. I have been linked to this charity since the beginning of the Coronation Street grooming storyline.” Chris said.

Chris has pulled together a team to deliver a one-minute animation, which is planned to be the first in a series exploring different effects of abuse. The first film will be released when the Coronation Street story climaxes today.

“I am tremendously excited to be working with Collage Arts and Slurpy Studios to make an online animation for Voicing CSA. It really excites me to not just lend my face, or donate money, but to involve the skills and dedication of the team at Collage Arts and help Voicing CSA achieve what it needs. Voicing CSA will benefit from an engaging and professional online image: helping not just their work, their profile and their fundraising abilities but, most importantly, the survivors out there who need it most”.
