Creating Something for Young Londoners

Collage Arts youth programme akaΒ β€˜Creating Something for Young Londoners’ is supported byΒ JPMorganChase FoundationΒ and over the past year, in partnership withΒ Bauer Media AcademyΒ we have been supporting over 200 young people to fulfil their creative aspirations, buildΒ industry skills and know-how, andΒ progress into sustainable careers.

Most notably,Β we have supportedΒ 100 young musicians, spoken word artists, film makers, visual arts, photographers and designers aged from 16 to 30 throughΒ Collage Works, employability and enterprise unit at Collage Arts.Β  Young creativesΒ have been supported to develop their skills in creative and digital media, leading to qualifications and work experience, and bringing them closer to working with the creativeΒ and media industries.

Clock Your Skills is a flexible approach of practice-based skills recognition, this model has been used to accredit the work that young people are been putting together in creative practiceΒ or creative entrepreneurship. thereby recognising their skills and future proofing them for the growing creative and digital industries.

Toby Fernandes, manager on the project says:

“We bring together the power of young people with creative talent, resources and environment within which they can flourish at their own pace. This is alongside wraparound support from creative mentors reflective of their communities & backgrounds; and engagement with employers from the start.”
