Celebrating International Women’s Day

On Wednesday night at Karamel in the heart of the Wood Green Cultural Quarter, Collage Arts launched the Create Your Future programme, where we hope to inspire women from ethnic minority and refugee communities to reach for the stars. The project aims to provide advice and support, improve skills, offer work experience and develop further career options and pathways.

Starting by taking a moment of appreciation for women in history who have fought for liberation and rights of women everywhere the evening soon moved onto inspiring female-led bands, showcasing a fantastic variety of world music and genres from bands such as Autorotation, Penniless Cove, DJ Lupe and PerKelt with special guest appearance from Archita Kumar!

Another IWD event was held on Saturday 11th March at The Community Hub in Caxton Road, where the Hidden Achievers Awards winners where announced, alongside a special guest visit from local MP Catherine West!
